Cisco WebEx videoconferencing system for the judicial community

    21.09.2020.

(Sarajevo, 21 September 2020) - In adherence with the safety measures introduced in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as in other countries, aimed at preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina was able to secure the organisation of up to one hundred virtual meetings on judicial matters during a three months promotional period through the Cisco WebEx videoconferencing system.

Considering the importance of keeping the communication flows between the HJPC and the courts and prosecutor offices throughout the country, Secretariat of the HJPC BiH  in cooperation with the EU, through the IPA project „Building an Effective and Citizen-friendly Judiciary”, has purchased the videoconferencing system services for a one-year period.

The procurement of the system will help to address current and future challenges in the work of both the HJPC BiH and other judicial institutions when organising Council sessions, standing committee meetings, meetings with donors as well as any other events requiring the presence of larger numbers of participants, such as training for judges and prosecutors, various professional collegium sessions, etc.

Upon acquiring the licenses, the BiH judicial community was informed of the options for the continued use of the Cisco WebEx videoconferencing system. The service has also been given to use to the Judicial Police of FBiH, entity judicial and prosecutorial training centres to carry out training for judicial office holders, as well as for other purposes within the judiciary.
