    Improving Court Efficiency and Quality Department

    Main duties of the Improving Court Efficiency and Quality Department:

    • Providing support and participating in the development of policies, strategic and other planning documents related to the work of courts in BiH;
    • Professional support to standing committees and other working bodies of the HJPC BiH regarding the work of the courts;
    • Proposing and implementing activities aimed at improving the efficiency, quality and transparency of the work of courts;
    • Establishing and maintaining cooperation with other institutions and organisations in relation to the work of the courts;
    • Preparation of project proposals and implementation of projects related to the work of courts;
    • Coordination of all projects related to the work of courts;
    • Monitoring statistical indicators that serve to measure how successful adopted measures to improve court performance have been;
    • Monitoring, analysis and support to courts in budget preparation and execution process;
    • Needs analysis and identification of topics for induction training and professional development of judges, in cooperation with the Judicial Documentation and Training Department;
    • Monitoring how equipped the courts are materially and technically, proposing measures and providing support for the process of establishing standardised working conditions;
    • Overseeing the application of quantitative and qualitative criteria for career promotion by strengthening mechanisms for the interconnectivity of various career phases in the judiciary, aimed at achieving an effective and efficient judiciary;
    • Improving the system for managing human resources in the judiciary, especially in relation to developing performance evaluation criteria for judges;
    • Entering, updating and managing data in the existing databases and, in coordination with the ICT Department, participating in the assessment and design of software solutions/improvements for databases, systems and processes essential for supporting the operation of the Department;
    • Participating in midterm planning, annual programming, monitoring and reporting within the HJPC BiH;
    • Identifying, developing and implementing new and improved methods of work to support the development of the Secretariat of the HJPC BiH and realisation of the set goals of the HJPC BiH;
    • Other tasks arising from the competence of the Department and other duties as assigned by the Director of the HJPC Secretariat.
