Judges of supreme and second instance courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina were participants in the training, which was held in February 2021 in cooperation with the Institute for the Training of Judges from the Netherlands, as part of the mentoring skills strengthening program.

The training is a continuation of the training program for judges, focusing on improving skills and techniques that help judges effectively manage hearings/proceedings as well as communication with colleagues, primarily on improving active listening skills and giving feedback.

The development and improvement of judicial qualities and skills, especially hearing/proceeding management skills and contact with parties, play a key role in creating a positive perception of citizens and building trust, which is why the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH is working intensively to establish mechanisms to help judges improve the quality of their work.

Considering the situation caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and in accordance with the decisions of the relevant executive bodies, as well as with the Decision of the HJPC BiH, the training was held via video conference.

The training was organized within the Judicial Quality Improvement Project, which is implemented with the support of the Government of Norway and in cooperation with the Norwegian Judicial Administration and the Judicial Council of the Netherlands.
